
Association Alzheimer
The Alzheimer Association in Mauritius aims to raise public awareness about Alzheimer's disease, support patients and their families, and train caregivers.

Association Alzheimer provides diagnostic services, counselling, and various activities like memory aids, games, hygiene, music and dance, massage, relaxation, and yoga for patients and their families.
Since 2010, Association Alzheimer has assisted 950 patients, with 75 regularly attending the centre.
Association Alzheimer was established in 2005. Initially, members visited patients in retirement homes and at home to provide guidance. In 2010, to better support families, they opened a day centre. This centre allows the association to offer diagnostic services, counselling, and therapeutic activities to patients.

- To support patients and families with the help of two psychologists.
- To train caregivers and nursing assistants to provide adequate care to patients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
- To raise public awareness about the disease and involve authorities.
- To contribute to research efforts on Alzheimer’s disease.
The Association Alzheimer & Dementia Mauritius inaugurated its day centre on September 21, 2010, coinciding with World Alzheimer's Day. This centre enhances support for families and provides essential services to patients.
