The Association d'Alphabétisation de Fatima is powered by a team of dedicated volunteers and manages:
- A pre-primary school in Cité Mère-Thérèsa with 25 students.
- A literacy school in Trou-aux-Biches with 103 students.
- A pre-vocational school in Trou-aux-Biches with 29 students.
Our organisation employs 15 teachers and three supervisors to ensure quality education and support for all our students.
In 1989, this wonderful journey began to address a pressing need: many children in the Triolet/Trou aux Biches region were not attending school. Volunteers, passionate about the growth and well-being of these young individuals, gathered twice a week for reading and creativity workshops. This wave of solidarity led to the creation of several buildings, which today house:
- A pre-primary school at the Mère Thérèsa residence for 20 young children.
- A school in Trou aux Biches for 140 youths.
We continue to uphold the vision we set for ourselves: to assist the students entrusted to us in their intellectual, emotional, and social development, encouraging them to become responsible citizens.
The association has met this challenge through the efforts of all involved, driven by generosity, respect, and love.
The goal is to go beyond basic education to promote the holistic development of children. Our objective to enhance their capacity for critical thinking and understanding, broaden their horizons, and instil a strong sense of values. By doing so, we aim to help them integrate and thrive in a broader society that promises a brighter future for them.
