In February 2009, the Collective Formateurs du Sud Ltd., a group of professionals dedicated to the holistic development of children, launched a training, support, and mentoring programme in Bois d’Oiseaux, Flacq.
Funded by the European Union, this project aimed to continue and strengthen parental education on child upbringing. It sought to raise awareness among parents about their responsibilities, support them in their parenting roles, and establish family micro-projects to generate income. Over the course of eight months, around twenty families and approximately thirty children benefited from this initiative.
By the project's conclusion in October 2009, the participating parents expressed a desire to meet regularly and work towards the well-being of their children. Inspired by the parents' motivation, the project leader, Mr. Jean-Claude Abel, developed a series of programmes in collaboration with local parents and youth to sustain this momentum.
Our mission is to create a nurturing environment that supports the holistic development of children and strengthens family bonds. Our objectives include:
- Supporting children in their development and education to help them succeed in their studies.
- Strengthening the bonds between children and their parents while celebrating the diversity of families and cultures.
- Enabling parents and the community to reflect on their role in a child's life and the impact they have on their development.
- Organizing sports days and other types of recreational activities.
- Academic support for children aged 5 to 18, covering both primary and secondary school levels.
- Cultural and Linguistic Exchange: Facilitating the departure of 12 young individuals to Réunion Island for a five-day linguistic and cultural project.
