Atelier Sa Nou Vize (Mouvement Forces Vives, Quartier EDC, Rose-Belle)

Atelier Sa Nou Vize is dedicated to uplifting the lives of underprivileged communities in Rose-Belle and its surrounding areas, through a variety of educational, recreational, and social programmes:

Student Guidance: Academic and Recreational Support

Funded by the National Social Inclusion Foundation, Atelier Sa Nou Vize operates after school hours in its Rose-Belle and Grand-Bois centres. It aids students from underprivileged families by offering educational support through remedial classes for Grades 3-13.

In 2018, the association established a sports and music academy for students, providing introductory music lessons—guitar, piano, ravanne, singing, and dancing. Additionally, it offers sports activities, with a focus on judo, as well as boxing and swimming.

Atelier Sa Nou Vize now consists of two centres (Atelier Sa Nou Vize Rose-Belle & Atelier Sa Nou Vize Grand-Bois), operational on weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Empowerment Programmes for Adults and Assistance to Families in Need

During the day, the organisation provides support for administrative procedures to vulnerable individuals, offering referrals to appropriate agencies. With the help of partners, it aims to train adults and young mothers in various skills. Beneficiaries also have access to a counselling service and a psychologist.

The organisation strives to help these individuals improve their living conditions by renovating their homes, including the elimination of asbestos houses.

Refurbishment of Asbestos-based Houses

In 2019-2020, Atelier Sa Nou Vize renovated around ten asbestos-based houses in Rose-Belle. Thanks to the funding from the National Social Inclusion Foundation, ten families were able to move into homes free from health risks.

Atelier des Tout-Petits (Little Ones' Workshop)

In 2024, a daycare project was launched with funding from the NSIF under the Fortified Learning Experience (FLE) Unit. This initiative aims to support young mothers and encourage them to return to work.

Social Entrepreneurship - Income-Generating Activities for the NGO:

In 2023, Sa Nou Vize established a professionally equipped recording studio (Views Record), offering audio services (recording, mixing, and mastering of jingles, songs, etc.) to artists and businesses.

Since 2014, the association has operated a community snack bar, "Baz Manz enn Kout," selling farathas and various sweet and savoury pastries at reduced prices in an effort to help residents secure some of their lunch/dinner meals.

The Movement Forces Vives aims to eradicate extreme poverty through education and empowerment (with various training programmes offered to our beneficiaries).

Main achievements
  • Since 2008, Atelier Sa Nou Vize has been offering remedial classes, helping over a hundred children and young people achieve success in both PSAC and HSC levels.
  • In 2010, thanks to our partners, we were able to assist more than 40 families through a construction project aimed at eliminating asbestos-based houses, continuing to help 4 to 5 families per year between 2011 and 2020.
  • We have also assisted over fifty families in finding jobs and training opportunities.
  • In 2015, we launched our Social Entrepreneurship project, which included the creation of a restaurant-snack bar and the construction of a multipurpose hall for youth activities and hosting artists.
  • In 2017, we established a sports and music academy to raise awareness and train our young people. The same year, we organized an Award Ceremony to honour the youth of Atelier Sa Nou Vize who excelled and graduated from the University of Mauritius.
  • In 2018, we opened a branch of Atelier Sa Nou Vize in Grand Bois. With the help of one of our partners, we inaugurated an IT Corner equipped with several computers, a projector, and a printer.
  • Starting in 2018, we also opened a Training Centre at both sites to maximize training opportunities.
