Etoile de Mer
Etoile de Mer offers an alternative, non-formal education method to vulnerable youth in the northeast of the island, providing them with a unique and supportive learning environment outside the traditional education system.
- Literacy and Numeracy Education focused on teaching reading and writing skills.
- Extracurricular Activities.
- Courses in plastic arts, theatre, music, aesthetics, cooking, and swimming.
- Prepare youth for the workforce through employability programmes in collaboration with ANFEN.
- Nutritional Support by providing breakfast and lunch to the children.
- Academic assistance for those who wish to re-enter the traditional education system by preparing them for the PSAC exams.
Beneficiaries: Etoile de Mer provides support to 49 youths, aged 12-16, who face difficulties in the traditional education system.
Founded in 2003 by a group of dedicated volunteers, Etoile de Mer was established to address the lack of educational opportunities for children in the Roches-Noires region and its surrounding areas. From the very beginning, the school partnered with the ANFEN network, recognizing the need for specialised expertise in providing informal educational support to the youth enrolled in our programmes.

- Establishing collaborations and partnerships with nearby hotel groups to support the employability programme.
- Empowering the youth to prepare their own breakfasts and lunches.
