Foodwise

ACTOGETHER NOTE:

FoodWise is a "Company limited by guarantee," operating as a non-profit and a member of ACTogether. Its mission aligns with those of ACTogether and the CIEL Foundation, focusing on solidarity and community engagement.

MAIN ACTIVITY:

FoodWise combats food waste and food insecurity in Mauritius by redistributing surplus and unsold food from businesses to NGOs that support vulnerable populations. Their efforts aim to reduce the 279 kilos of food wasted every minute on the island, turning waste into valuable resources that provide healthy meals for those in need while also addressing environmental and economic concerns.

Services offered

FoodWise serves as the intermediary between businesses and NGOs, facilitating and managing partnerships on operational, logistical, and legal fronts. We handle donations of all types of food, including fruits, vegetables, dry goods, prepared meals, dairy products, bread, pastries, and more.

Beneficiaries: Our recipients include NGOs, schools, shelters, and homes supporting those in need.
