
Inclusion Mauritius
Founded in 2003, Inclusion Mauritius is a federation of 13 NGOs dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities (multiple disabilities). In 2017, the following NGOs were part of Inclusion Mauritius: ASF, Mauritius Mental Health Association (MMHA), APRIM, Anou Grandi, CEPEH, EWAD, Rêve et Espoir, SENS, Centre Joie de Vivre, APEIM, Autisme Maurice, Southern Handicapped Association (SHA), and Fondation Georges Charles. Inclusion Mauritius is affiliated with Inclusion International, representing 200 federations in 115 countries across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, the Americas, and the Asia-Pacific region.
Activities:
- Awareness campaigns to promote the rights of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Education programmes and training initiatives to enhance employability for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Conducting national assessments to gather statistics on individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Inclusion Mauritius is committed to creating an inclusive society where individuals with disabilities can thrive and achieve their full potential.
Inclusion Mauritius provides comprehensive training for youth aged 16 to 35 from the 13 member NGOs. Our services include:
- Vocational training to equip youth with practical skills for various professions.
- Soft skills development to enhance essential interpersonal skills.
- Life skills education to teach important life skills for personal development.
- Communication skills to improve communication abilities.
- Employability skills to prepare individuals for the job market.
- Information Technology and creativity to offer training in IT and foster creativity.
Additionally, we offer a support system for individuals with intellectual disabilities who are employed, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance to succeed in their roles.

Since its inception, Inclusion Mauritius has been working tirelessly to promote the rights and well-being of people with disabilities, fostering an inclusive society where everyone can thrive.

- Organised workshops to empower parents to become support persons for their children.
- Held press conferences and engaged in lobbying efforts to advocate for the educational rights of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
