
Mouvement Solidarite Rodrigues
The association contributes to the integration of people from Rodrigues into Mauritius through solidarity actions. This includes welcoming them upon arrival, assisting them with accommodation arrangements, and sharing essential information to help them, such as job search guidance and training opportunities.

Beneficiaries: Approximately 10,000 individuals from Rodrigues living in so-called "vulnerable" areas in Mauritius.
Mouvement Solidarité Rodrigues is a civil society organisation dedicated to improving the integration of Rodriguan migrants in Mauritius. Since our inception in 2012, we have assisted numerous Rodriguans in Mauritius and have worked tirelessly to advance the situation of Rodriguans in precarious circumstances. We have also collaborated with national and regional state bodies and other institutions.
- To welcome newcomers and provide support until they are well-settled.
- To share information on available jobs and connect job seekers with potential employers.
- To offer training sessions for job seekers.
- To provide information on social housing programmes.
- To promote Rodriguan culture and values such as traditional dance, hard work, community spirit, and commitment.
- To support any actions that lead to improving the living conditions of Rodriguan migrants in Mauritius and develop partnerships that contribute to this objective.
- To enhance the skills of Rodriguans to serve as role models for others.
- To develop the capacities of Mouvement Solidarité Rodrigues (MSR) and its members.
- To decentralise the MSR.
- Establishment of a dedicated office space which serves as the headquarters for the movement and hosts information and training sessions.
- Training programmes for members and the community.
- Support and guidance to community members.
- Identification and management of communication projects.
- Five Migration Health Advocates have been appointed and trained.
- House renovation was carried out for a family in Roche-Bois in 2016.
- A dance group was created for children in Cité la Cure.
- Hospital visits are carried out to Rodriguan patients admitted to hospitals in Mauritius.
- Annual Autonomy Celebration organised yearly since 2013.
- A Rodriguan Culture Day was hosted in 2015 and 2016.
- A Rodriguan Evening was organised in 2014.
- An employment service was established to assist community members.
Future Priorities:
- To enhance support by increasing human and material resources to better assist Rodriguan patients in Mauritius.
- To focus on capacity building for members to enhance their ability to support migrants.
- To promote the preservation of Rodriguan culture among the youth.
- To develop an efficient support system for Rodriguan migrants facing employment issues, inadequate housing, and social challenges.
