
Biodiversity Preservation
We engage youth and vulnerable populations in sustainable development initiatives. Our mission includes preserving biodiversity and food heritage through environmental education programmes. We actively combat the intensive use of pesticides and genetically modified organisms. Additionally, we promote sustainable agriculture practices and strive towards organic responsibility.
History
- 2012: We established a branch of Slow Food International in Mauritius.
- 2013: We created a formal structure as an association.
- 2016: We rebranded from Slow Food Tipa Tipa to Biodiversity Preservation.
Objectives
- To engage youth and vulnerable populations in sustainable development initiatives.

- Launch of the Slow Food Tipa Tipa / Interrogative Campaign (2013)
- Launch of Earth Market Mauritius / Farmers Markets (2014)
- Development of an Agroecology Guideline for planters (2014)
- Support provided to Earth Markets Mauritius in developing Participatory Guarantee Systems (PGS) with IFOAM's technical assistance for Mauritius and Rodrigues (2015)
- Launch of Planters Programme / Pesticide Action Programme by Générations Futures in Mauritius (2015)
- Launch of School Programme / Pesticide Action Programme Painting Challenge by Générations Futures (2016)
- Support Earth Markets Mauritius in launching Community Earth Market (2017)
- Launch of Slow Basket (2017)
