Groupe Renaissance de Mahebourg
Groupe Renaissance de Mahebourg is an association dedicated to providing psychosocial support and follow-up for individuals with drug dependencies, including alcohol, guiding them towards detoxification centres for effective treatment and rehabilitation.
- Support for individuals with drug dependencies and their families to ensure effective rehabilitation and recovery.
- Psychosocial assistance to help individuals and their families navigate the challenges of addiction and recovery.
Groupe Renaissance was established in 2008 in response to a request for support from an individual with a drug dependency. Since then, the group has collaborated with the Ministry of Health and Quality of Life to open the methadone induction centre in Mahébourg. Initially, individuals were only inducted into the methadone programme after undergoing a preparatory process provided by Groupe Renaissance.
Beneficiaries: Between 2009 and 2013, Groupe Renaissance aided 450 to 500 individuals. Many of these beneficiaries are now on methadone treatment, while others have been referred to the Centre de Solidarité and the Centre de Terre Rouge for residential therapies. The organisation continues to seek funding to support its mission and expand its services.
