The training will be facilitated by Nadine Chantry, a psychologist having an extensive international expertise in the field of psychosocial support based on systemic family approaches and in aid relationships, mental health and child protection.  The aim is to strengthen the overall support network for individuals in need and ensure a consistent, high-quality approach across institutions. This collaboration allows ANFEN Training Institute (ATI) to capitalise on established, evidence-based methodologies and empower other organisations and individuals with the skills and tools necessary for effective psychosocial support, fostering a more resilient and supportive community.

The training is divided into 2 sessions:

  • Session 1: On 27 and 28 november 2024: psychosocial support to children and adolescents using the systemic family approach.  The training will cover 2 major topics; an empathetic understanding of the world of children and teens impacted by violence and acquiring basic awareness on concepts and tools emanating from the systemic approach that underpin practices and intervention strategies.
  • Session 2: 04 and 05 december 2024, psychosocial support to children and adolescents from the Attachment perspective. The focus will be on the steps of the psychosocial support based on an individualised and participatory approach and practices and intervention strategies underpinned by the Attachment theory.

The cost of the training per session is Rs 10, 000 but a discount of Rs 2, 500 is applied for attending both sessions of 4 days.  This training is HRDC refundable and NGOs are also eligible to refunds by the HRDC on training.  Details on that opportunity are found on the MRA (Mauritius Revenue Authority) website.  (https://www.mra.mu/index.php/downloadable-forms/training-levy).
