The Saint-Joseph Technical School of Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill is looking for Part-time contractual teachers in the field of Welding and Metal Fabrication to work with students aged from 14 to 18 years old who have not been successful at the primary and pre-vocational level. Our school under the aegis of the Mouvement Social de la Jeunesse Mauricienne (MSJM) a registered NGO, is located at St Ignace Street, Rose-Hill.
The aim of the school is to help young people in vulnerable situations to acquire necessary skills with a view to joining the MITD sectors or entering the world of work. By working with our NGO (MSJM), we see our educational project as part of a long-term development strategy for the country, with the aim of increasing everyone's chances of getting on with life. Our trainees who have reached the age of sixteen are subject to a practical apprenticeship training in industries during the August holidays. Extra-Curriculum activities are also offered to our students such as educational visits to industries, recreational activities, sports, therapeutic art and prevention of the ills of our society. A listening and psychology service is also offered to help them manage their emotions and face life with a little more confidence and peace of mind.
The school is open from Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 2.45 p.m.
